  1. many of the essential oils are mildly toxic to other plants, insects and animals. They are part of the defense system of the plants.

well i know one is a furn there are very many though like a phikus that is a very good example but most of them live in a tropical rain forest...

After hours of internet research, my friend Adrianna and I found out about a plant that was found out to be on Mt.Everest.It is a dandelion-like plant called Allium.

After hours of internet research,My friend & I found out that there are dandelion-like plants on Mt.Everest.They are called Allium.(Allium Hybrid) It is a beautiful creamy white, the mature form is upright spikes. The flowering period is in May.It is widely adaptable to most soils. The explosure to the sun is full sun-partial sun.It goes 5 inches down into the soil. This plant grows 6 beautiful spheres of cremy white flowers. They look like snow ballls. These plants are wonderfly fragrant. These particularily elegant flowers are rabbit, deer,& squirrel resistant for some reason. It takes 3 weeks for the Allium Hybrid to fully bloom. They bloom from late spring to early summer.

  2. Plants. We can get along with only plants.

This flies in the face of a lot of thinking. But we can get along without soil, and grow our plants in non-decomposing plant material. Plants can extract their plant nutrients directly from plant matter.

I know, this is a cop out, we can improve on the situation with the use of earth worms, mold and fungi, bacteria. These can not only break down old plant material, they can capture (fix) nitrogen from the air, they can convert hard clay to good rooting media.

Unfortunately all of those are highly useful but not essential.

  3. Very simple answer to your question is bacteria.  Without bacteria to break down all the things that have died the earth would stagnate, and life as we know it would cease.

We need the bacteria to break down the manures, leaves, dead grass, dead birds and animals, as well as the microscopic critters.

Ultimately all of of agriculture boils down to three things, sunlight, water, and bacteria.
