  1. Worry not! It's only some small family-owned stores that may close 1 to 3 weeks in August as the whole family goes on vacation: the local butcher, baker, optician, etc.

None of the major stores close, they are open year round.

When a small store closes a few weeks a year, they choose their own dates anyway, there are no official closing days in August. If you have a specific small boutique in mind check their website to see if they will be closing (unlikely at the end of August).

  2. Choco is right. The major stores stay open as Paris has lots of tourists in Aug. and it's mostly the small shops & restaurants that close.

If you want the biggest resale shop of all, try the Marce aux Puces (Flea Market) Porte de Clignancourt on Fri., Sat. & Sun. You will find absolutely everything, antique, new & in-between.

  3. I agree with the Choco man! It's just quiet in the city if you are seeking local fun guys or grls,. Have Fun  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚™Â‚ I do adore Paris
