  1. My doc likes to do a ultrasound at every visit to check the fluid levels. I also had a level II ultrasound done at 24 weeks to check the blood flow and activity of the babies organs. Though the amount of Ultrasounds that you get done depends on the doctor.

  2. I had about 12 with my second child.  Only around 4-6 for my first child.  It was different for my second child because there were problems with the pregnancy.  So they had to do them often to keep an eye on the baby.

    Ultrasounds are great!

    Best of luck!

  3. about six in all

  4. If everything is going as planned you will probably have 2.  one at the beginning to determine your due date, and the other at 20 weeks or so to check for any abnormalities in the baby.

If you decide for a nuchal transluceny test, you will then have an ultrasound at 11-14 weeks for that.

Good luck to you ad your pregnancy journey!

  5. The same kinds as there are for every other mother?

I had 2 with my first daughter, and one with my 2nd.  (The 2nd one for my 1st daughter was a prenatal assessment because she was not moving around as much).

  6. I've only had 2 so far, and I think that's all I'm getting!

The first one was to diagnose how far along in pregnancy I was, and the second one was the big 20 week full anatomy ultrasound.

Sometimes a doctor will do an ultrasounds between about 12-14 weeks for the Nuchal Translucency, and also sometimes if a doctor suspects a baby is getting too large for the womb, they may do another ultrasound just before baby is due.

Keep in mind this is a generalization, it varies from place to place.

  7. I was 28 years old with my first and I only had one ultrasound at 18 weeks.

  8. Generally you have 2 if you have a normal pregnancy. However I had over ten because of problems. Usually they will do a vaginal ultrasound , in which they insert a long skinny tool inside your v****a, it doesn't hurt. This is done if they think the cervix is weak or it's too early to see the baby through the other ultrasound. Otherwise it would be a normal tummy ultrasound
