  1. Sunflowers should still be out if the weather stays the way it has been.


  2. The most visible of the wildflowers are the poppies, but they're in the early May time-frame rather than September: http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/albu...  http://community.webshots.com/album/5602...

    There are also bee orchids, lady orchids, monkey orchids and a lot of other varieties in the spring.

    The sunflowers will still be out in September - there are huge fields of them in some places, but those are cultivated, not wild.

    You might also be interested in the Murabilia flowers in the walls exhibition near Lucca the 1st week in September.

  3. i went to sienna in late june and there was a ton of sunflowers.

    i also saw lavender.
