Monty Sharma is the grand son of Pandit Ram Prasad Sharma and nephew of music mastreo Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma (of Laxmikant - Pyarelal duo). He started learning music from his grandfather in western and Indian Classical Music. He has worked for a number of Bollywood films, and most recently Saawariya. He usually works with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He is currently a member of judges' panel of the popular reality show STAR Voice of India 2.
