  2. Peru is sort of a microcosm of the world.

You have to deal with weather from the Andes Mountains.  You have the Amazon Rainforest.  You have a lengthy Pacific Coast and a rather large desert in the South.

  3. The Andes.

  4. Actually, Peru's climate is severely affected by two things: The Andes on one side and the Humboldt marine current on the other. Remember Peru is in the tropical equatorial region of the globe, yet the weather in the coast is dry (the coast itself is a desert). This is because the Humboldt current is very cold and does not allow for evaporation and condensation on the coast, thus no rain on the coast, thus a desert. The Andes don't allow the water rich clouds from the Amazon basin to reach the coast so, again, no rain and no water on the coast.

Thus, both things make the country's climate what it is.
