  1. it is all part of the same group like french, spanish, or italian. Moldova i pretty similar it seems to me

the best ten to visit are

    progue

    rome

    vienna

    paris

    switzerland

  2. To answer you original questions, Romanian is a romance language, so is part of the same group as Italian, Spanish French etc.

How similar it is, I don't know as I don't speak it.

The country of Moldova is similar to Romania as they share the same language - Romanian.

In my experience, the 10 best European countries to visit are:

    1 - Italy

    2 - France

    3 - Spain

    4 - UK

    5 - Croatia

    6- Greece

    7 - Turkey

    8 - Slovenia

    9 - Netherlands

    10 - Sweden

  3. The closest relative of Romanian is vulgar Latin (the Latin spoken by common soldiers in the Roman empire).  If you are asking about the closest language that is still spoken, it is Italian, which is 40% intelligible with Romanian.

I would have to guess that Croatian and Bosnian would be the closest relatives to Bulgarian that use the Roman alphabet because they share proximity and they are all Slavic languages, unlike Romanian, which is a Romance language.

The Republic of Moldova is most similar to Romania because most of it used to be called Bassarabia  and was a part of Romania prior to WWII (back and forth between Romania and Russia...complicated history).  Their national language is Romanian and their history is very closely tied to that of Romania.  Ethnic Moldavians are considered to have the same ethnic background as Romanians.

Ten best countries:  Honestly anywhere in Eastern Europe that hasn't been run over with tourists is best.

Worst:  Tourist infested, overpriced places in Western Europe that you see on the cover of all the guidebooks.

    9. Germany

    10. UK

More could be: Ireland, Iceland, Latvia, Estonia, Portugal, Greece, Hungary, BeNeLux, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Andorra, and Cyprus

Worst: countries I wouldn't want to go to before the above

    1. Russia

    2. Belarus

    3. Ukraine

    4. Poland

    5. Slovakia

    6. Romania
