It's Chinese. It has just under 1 billion native (mother tongue) speakers. English is a very widely spoken language, but that's because it's a second language as well as native.

Chinese followed by Spanish followed by English (There are probably more Urdu or Hindi speakers as a first language than Spanish but I'm really not sure). Although English is the most spoken language in terms of secondary languages.
