im planning on getting the 7 'deadly' sins tattooed either down my spine or on my lower back from one side around to the other, preferably small writting and just under my pants line. i dont want them written in english, i want them to be in a language that is beautiful both to speak and look at. any suggestions? and how much will it hurt?

  1. The most logical answer would be Latin because that is the language of the Catholic Church. It's a matter of opinion whether it's beautiful to speak and/or look at. I don't have any tattoos so I can't answer the second part of your question.

FYI, this is what it would be in Latin and Japanese.

    Lust - Luxuria - 色欲

    Gluttony -Gula - 暴食

    Greed - Avaritia - 強欲

    Sloth - Acedia - 怠惰

    Wrath - Ira - 憤怒

    Envy - Invidia - 嫉妬

    Pride - Superbia - 傲慢

  2. Vanity

    Envy

    Gluttony

    Lust

    Anger

    Greed

    Sloth

    ___Italian___

Vanità Invidia Ghiottoneria Lussuria Collera Avidità Bradipo

    _____Portugese___

A vaidade Inveja Gula Cobiça Raiva Avareza Preguiça

    ____Spanish_____

Pereza de Ira de Lujuria de Glotonería de Envidia de vanidad Avaricia

  3. Latin:

superbia, avaritia, luxuria, invidia, gula, ira, acedia

tattoos certainly don't tickle :) but they're tolerable, imo.

  4. English, use a really stylised font,  things change their meaning in translation and you may find you have something written on you back or where ever you have your tattoo that you didn't want.

  5. Latin or spanish!

  6. Italian. It is a beautiful language just like beautiful place it is spoken in. =]]

  7. definitely choose a language that means something to you, either you speak it or it's part of your heritage.

choosing a random language probably means it's trendy and it will date your tattoo (and consequently your skin!)

i do like the latin idea, though, presumably you are catholic if you're getting the deadly sins tattooed on you

  8. chinese lettering

  9. I suggest Maori...  they like you have the mind that thinks tattooing is beautiful ...unlike the rest of us!

  10. german

  11. hmm maybe spanish???

  12. latin + no idea on pain, never had a tattoo :)

Nice idea for a tattoo though ;D!

  13. hmm welll i guess hindi would be the best...its really in...i love it....i dont knw a bout...how much it will hurt!

  14. well i cant tell you how  much it would hurt, but i do recommend a language such as spanish or italian, as these look nice as writing but also sound cool:)

  15. If I were to get a tattoo in another language, I'd want it to be in one I knew how to speak, therefore it would be German. I assume you don't know any languages so have a look at some. I guess you'd prefer the romance languages like French, Italian, Latin or Spanish. If you can, find a native speaker and get them to translate what you want, check and double check. Don't trust online translation engines, they do not translate everything accurately.

    Good luck.

  16. No matter what language you chose, get the finish item checked by a few to make sure it says what you want it to say. Some jokers out there.

  17. Its going to hurt...its a tattoo... especially if your planning on getting it down your spin.... It's all bone there.... anyways if your planning on getting the deadly sins on you, then my suggestion is go for Latin or get it in the language your ancestors spoke.
