  1. Portuguese.

  2. Portuguese

  3. Portuguese, mostly.

Some english, spanish, and french to accomodate visitors.

  4. Rio was once the capital of Brazil. Brazil's national language is Portuguese - not Spanish.  I am sure you can hear Spanish there as well, as you will also hear German, English, Italian, etc... (Rio is a vacation hot spot, and South American countries are populated by indigenous people and European immigrants)

  5. Portuguese is the language most spoken in Brazil.

  6. Portuguese, that is the main language of Brazil, since it was colonized by Portugal and NOT Spain.

  7. PORTUGUESE! Last I heard, Rio de Janeiro wasn't in the Dominican Republic. And no it's not the MOST spoken language, it's THE language spoken there.

Of course a lot of people speak more than one language, and English is often one of them. And most Brazilians can understand Spanish if it is spoken slowly and without slang, but most native Spanish speakers often have a hard time understanding Brazilian Portuguese.

  8. Portuguese, in the official language of Brazil.

  9. Portuguese as it is the official language in Brasil. When I moved there I found it very difficult to communicate with people in English outside of Ipanema and Copacabana.

Brasilian Portuguese is different from european portuguese just like american english is different to Oxford English. But it has a beautiful sound and melody to it. Try and learn it, am sure you will agree:)

  10. ESPANOL! Representing Dominican Republic!
