What lb. test line should i use for northern pike?Also what brand of line would you suggest?

10 pound berkley trilene with a 20 pound redwolf steel coated nylon leader.Ive never had a pike break off.

I'm with Flounderbytes on this one... also if you're using live bait suckers work great...if you can get them...if not shiners.

I would suggest 10-15lb test. Go with the line "power pro". It is braided and has a super thin diameter. 15lb test will have the diameter of around 2-4 lb test but is still as strong as a braided 15lb. I have yet to break the line and have caught many pike on it.

I'd use 30lb. braid with a steel leader. The braid will help cut through weeds and vegetation, the steel leader is for the teeth.!

spider 15bl test with a 18 in. steel leader will catch some fat and big northern pike.
