  1. the russians throw nothing away but its mainly obsolete

  2. And Black Sea fleet is worst funded. It has received only one new ship during last two decades. Other three (Baltic, Northern, and Eastern) are not so deep in the *ss, though not in the best shape for sure.

  3. First guy said it right.  A lot of ships they can't afford to maintain.   Looks scary on paper but they can't even pay the crews.

  4. The Russian navy has 1 carrier, 2 of the Kirov cruisers/battle cruisers, a small number of cruisers and destroyers some frigates but nothing major.  The bulk of the navy has been the submarine fleet and that is composed of junk, They have delta iv as the primary ssbn, and the akula class as the primary attack sub, they still have some delta III, the typhoons i dont think are operational, They do have a large number of oscars I and oscars II, Their fleet is good on paper but in reality is a pile of old outdated overrated ships.

  5. Mostly obsolete tech  But compared to that of Georgia it is overwhelming force.
