  1. Are you talking about Aleister Crowley? the hermetic master who was...well most say he was mad. And i think he's an expert in demonology (the study of demons). No one can really know if someone has gone to heaven or h**l, but his legacy or his practice lives on through some of his books, his journal of heremtic works is now a book. And his novels are now being sold too. So he left behind most of his teachings and his magical works.

I just assume you were talking about aleister Crowley

    hope i helped

  2. His main legacy is a large number of people unable to pronounce his surname. Apparently it is meant to rhyme with Holy, not Owly.

He was one of two mages at that time (the other was AOS) who made masturbation fashionable for mages.

Led Zeppelin would have been a lot less interesting without him.

We wouldn't have Gardnerian Wicca (and its derivates) and we probably wouldn't have had Scientology either if he wasn't here.

So Led Zeppelin and freeing masturbation are good things but Scientology is a bad no-no. On this basis I submit that he is in h**l (but loving it).

  3. he was jack ***  warlock not wizard who gave secrets away he was rat a phony fink a  a stupid hat werear who never repented to living god he made a pleadge to as a mason so that makes him a hertic too he was a fink

  4. Part of his legacy is the writing and books he left us with. Also the other people he influenced at the time, i.e. Israel Regardie and Gerald Gardener.

I think the main legacy though was he opened the doors to a lot of Hermetic knowledge and Yogic and Eastern Spiritualism.

His Thoth Tarot is an extraordinary body of work. The exploration of the symbolism and archetypes combined with the artwork has definitely had a knock on effect upon modern decks.

There is also no doubt that his ritual work and script influenced Gerald Gardener and so modern Wicca.

His theatrical manner, sexual proclivity and addictions unfortunately worked against him. Yet from, ritual, occult interest, divination, the cabala, psychic art, the whole gamut he left his stamp.

Heaven? perhaps he is still at the gates debating with St Peter.

  5. all practical ready to use modern magick manuals, wicca, chaos magic, hippies, OTO, world would be much duller place if there was no crowley.

not to forget great bands like Tiamat or Therion and many others

  6. No such thing as heaven!!

However, we got many a great tune..

Mr Crowley - Blizzard Of Ozz

Man of Sorrows, The Magician - Bruce Dickinson...

    feel free to add more!

  7. Crowley's legacy? Well, he brought about man systems and belief structure, Chaos and Wicca being the most prominent. It's more thant likely he was responsible for the abolishon (sp?) of the anti-witchcraft laws in the UK. The man's legacy i quite impressive, shame he was nutcase.

  8. Alistair Crowley did not believe in Heaven, so it's unlikely that he is there. His legacy, as I see it, is that he re-established a fear of witchcraft. He 'dabbled' in the darker side of magic and often had poor results which just made him seem 'scarier'! His involvement in Wicca is well documented, but I feel it is often glamorising and distorting the 'real' meaning of witchcraft.

  9. He showed that crackpot swindlers can make lots of money from stupid rich people.

  10. Aleister Crowley (spelt correctly) left a book called MAGICK in theory and practice.Have the book not read it. Don't really believe in his teachings.
