What legal rights do I have if gifted a car but person did not register it and it is still on my insurance?

Car gifted, all paperwork with person (title signed over...), has been almost a year and has not registered car in own name...I am still paying the insurance - what legal rights/action do I have? (reside in NY)

  1. You need to talk to the DMV or a lawyer. So long as the car is in your name you are responsible for anything that happens.
