I'm 6'2 145 lbs and a intermediate/advanced skier. I am trying to decide between 174 and 179 k2 public enemy's. If it changes anything, I think the 174's look cooler!

  1. You should pick the one that fits you better because if you pick a ski that is too long you will have a really hard time turning the ski. To find out if the ski is the right length put the skis up to your face and if the tips reach your eyes then they are the right length. It should not be longer or shorter.

Hope This Helps You Decide :)

  2. If you are a beginner about up to just below your chin. Intermediate from below your chin to your nose.

Advanced from your mouth to your forehead.

If you are lighter then go a little smaller. If you are bigger then you can go a little longer.

Most decent shops can help you out. If you go to a ski area and rent skis they will make you fill out a form that they will use to pick out the right size for you.

  3. Back in the day it was the longer ski the better.  I myself ski long skis, but the rule on the length these days is between your chin and forehead...I believe.  You should buy the ski you like better since you ski well!

  4. There is not much difference between 174cm and 179cm.  they are both about right for you.  I would recomend the 174s if you plan on more park skiing.  they will be slightly lighter and more manuverable.  however, you may want to ski more all mountain maybe the 179s.  they will be just a little more stable.  also if you grow, they will fit for longer.

  5. Well the rule of thumb is that your skis should be between the top of your head and chin..But because your a more advanced skier, i would suggest going with one slightly longer...In the end Im sure that either ski would work fine (the 179 would fit you right at about the top of any ski length right for you)
