You can probably use longer spikes in xc than in track right?

    6mm tracks spikes

    I have used anything from 9mm to 15mm with javelin spikes in really muddy conditions.

    The selection of spike size is really dependant on the ground conditions. Generally 9 or 12mm should suffice.  


  2. Don't use spikes at all if its a course with a lot of concrete/ hard packed gravel, just wear blanks in the spike holes, otherwise, whatever the shoe comes with should be fine.
