  1. Dont know.

  2. I have a sigma 10-20 and it's a pretty nice lens. I hear the Nikon is better though.

  3. Check out the Sigma 10-20 it's an awesome wide angle lens, and not overly expensive.

  4. I believe the D50 come with an 18-55 lens as standard?  If so, its lower setting will give you a pretty wide angle .... wide enough for most things anyway.   Anything much wider is going to introduce distortion of architectural shots and the like though I appreciate that might be an acceptable compromise.

Sorry that's not much of an answer.  Have a great trip..

  6. 12-24 mm Nikon would be just right.

I used mine for nine weeks in the Caribbean .. it was amazing.

  7. It all depends on the budget you've got.

Cheaper or by no means cheap Sigma 10-20 for about £325

Tokina 12 to 24 for about the same money but I don't think the lens is as good as the Sigma.

Mid price range Nikon DX 16-85 good lens excellant specification for the price £600

Top of the tree 14-24 f2.8 @ over £1100 it's expensive but the quality is great.

Why not try Sigma 18-200 budget lens around £250 superb value you only need to take the one lens on holiday covers most eventualities. What you have to think about is what do you want from your photography if you want 6x4 snap shots of a holiday then any of the above will do that, if you want to print A3+ and view them close then you will have to spend the money to do it.

    Have a nice holiday ,
