  1. If you are feeling lucky and you want to play all that in one game, I suggest 2$/4$ or perhaps 5$/10$ :P

  2. never more than you can afford to lose......and you dont have much to start with......................so go low...........

  3. I would risk no more than 5% per sit and go or cash game session.  In this case, it would be $25, or 12.5 pounds.  I also consider tournament fees in this case...you always want to maximize your return on investment.  For MTT's, don't risk more than 2.5%, but I usually risk less considering the time you are investing, as well.

Also be sure to keep a log.  There are some poker tracker softwares that will do this for you, but I use a simple MS Excel file.  I log the date, type of game played, buy-ins (including tournament fees) and total winnings per session.

Moving up is up to you.  I would generally wait until I had a little bit more than enough when the math works out.  It also depends on what kind of game you are playing most.  I have also found that even the style of play varies greatly between levels.  This is why I'd wait and have a few extra buy-ins when the math is right.  You want to be able to adjust your game if necessary if you've gotten into a groove winning at a previous level.

  4. Start at $1-$2 limit hold'em.  Keep records of what your bankroll is.  When you get more experience and have doubled your bankroll move up to the next limit.

  5. I would start off at .5/1$ The general consensus is that you should have 300 Big bets for Limit Holdem and 30Buyins for NL Holdem.

And I wouldn't move up in stakes until you can prove you can consistantly beat those stakes.  For myself, I make sure I play at least 20,000 hands at each stake before I move up.  I also make sure I am beating the game for at least a 5bb/100 Winrate.  This means you are making 5 Big bets for every 100 hands you play.

Thats the system I use at least.  You can change some of the figures but the most important thing is that you have at least 300 Big Bets for the stakes you are playing at all times.  This ensures that you never go broke, assuming you are a winning player.

  6. The general consensus amongst the pros is 1/50th or 2% of your bankroll, this gives you achance incase you hit a long losing run, if you lose your betting bank playing at that level means your no good and should give up.

My advice is start at at £5  ($10) reduce this if your bank goes below £200 but increase it if you reach £500.

You are very lucky to understand the concept of a betting bank, most beginners don't, most beginners get themselves into all sorts of trouble.

Remember you can eat your betting money, but never bet your eating money

Hope you have many hours of enjoyment and fun

    good luck

  7. Depends completely on what game you decide to play. Are you interested in Cash games or Sit and Go and whether you are playing No Limit Texas holdem or Limit Texas holdem.

Usually it is said that you should have 300 times big blind for Limit Texas Holdem and between 30-50 buy ins for No Limit.

As for Sit and Go you should have around 100 entry fees.

    Hope that this helped.
