I just started about eight months ago, and my coach say i'm very good for how long i've been doing it. I want to be on the competitive team, but I don't know if i'm good enough. Oh, btw, i'm 13.

Floor skills- handstand, handstand roll, cartwheel, 1 handed cartwheel, roundoff, 1 handed roundoff, front handspring, back handspring, double back handspring, front walkover, back walkover, back walkover back handspring, working on front tuck.

Beam skills- cartwheel, 1 handed cartwheel, roundoff, 1 handed roundoff, handstand, front walkover, back walkover, back hspring and these are my dismounts- roundoff (mastered this a while ago) side handstand dismount (also called Wendi), front handspring, front tuck, front pike, working on back tuck (had a bad experience with it :(

Vault skills- i'll be honest. I'm awful at vault. All I can do is a front handspring, and it's not even that good.

Bars- front hip circle, back hip circle, free hip circle, glide kip,

squat on, flyaway (but it isn't that great

  1. Im 13 and in  prep opt. I would say that you would do really well in level 5 all you really need to do is improve your backhandspring and toutch up some of your skills, get your back tuck and a back extention roll and you can to 2 level 6! 8 months is really great! You have a natural talent. You are DEFINATLY good enough for the competitive team.

  2. This sounds like you can do some harder skills but level 5 would be the one you compete, here are the skils needed for the level 5 routines:

Floor: dive roll, front handspring, at least 120 degree leap, right splits, back extention roll, backwalkover, and a round off double back handspring

    Vault:

    Front Handspring

    Bars:

Glide kip, front hip circle, at least horizontal cast, squat on, long hang kip, cast, backhipcircle, undershoot, tap swings, half turn dismount

    Beam:

Snapturn, at least 120 degree leap , handstand, pivot-pivot turn, half turn, cartwheel, straight jump-split jump, arobesque, handstand-half-tun dismount

You may be able to do some of these things with ease but you dont have all of the skills to go level 6 so this is what you would compete.

I am a competative gymnast myself, and if your coach has not sais that you should compete or that you can move up to team, you probably cant.

    Hope this helped!

  3. level 2 cuz of the backhandsprings

  4. You sound like a level 5 almost 6 because you have a lot of the level 6 skills but not all of them you need on

floor-front handspring stepout fronthandspring, get your front tuck, back extension roll, roundoff backhandspring back tuck don't worry I had a bad experiance with my backtuck to to thursdays ago I sprained my wrist.

Beam-you need the dismount which is a handstand hold for one second turn to a side handstand hold two seconds turn off like in the side handstand dismount.

    Vault-no new skills

    Bars-long hang pullover(baby giant)

Your really good I don't even have my flyaway yet and I am a level 6

  5. your not any level. when your coach tells you that you are ready to work level 4,5,6 and so on to level 10 then you will know. you sound like a normal gymnast who can do the basics. my sister is a level 9 gymnast so i know. but your  coach will tell you when you are a level so don't worry.
