What license do you need to drop skydivers (as a pilot)?

if a private pilot wanted to drop a jumper, would they need to do any special training?

If you are compensated in any manner, to include free jumps, you'd need a commercial ticket.

I'm not sure about the training but I do know you are required to ware a parachute yourself.

You would have to have a commercial ticket. You would not have to wear a chute tho because you are not pitching the nose up or down 30 degrees. Although you may want to practice flying with out a door on the airplane because there is going to be a lot more drag and you would have to fly at a bit slower speed than cruise.
