What lies did your parents tell you while growing up?

That there was a little elf in my house and if I wasn't behaving he would tell Santa…! Created a little complex that everyone was out to get me!! :)

If I frown my face would get stuck that way...

The usual parental lies … Santa, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy. The holy trinity, etc.

I hold nothing against them, of course; I had huge amounts of fun every Christmas, Easter, and days I lost my baby teeth…They are the Best Parents in the World!!!.

my mum told me that eating red beans can make me see more far.. even to america.. so i ate and guess what? i still can't see america! lol

It is a peculiar question. Why should the parents tell lies to the children? I have a daughter and we live like sisters, friends and relatives, like that. Nothing is hidden to my child. My parents were also doing the same thing what I am doing to my child. Hence, this question has not been arisen so far.

this is gonna sound sooooooo stupid but i was only about 5 and have always loved singing along to the radio .....i remember my dad was a UB40 fan and the song rat in the kitchen came on .....i always thought the singer said "theres a rat in me kitchen what am i gonna do ,theres a rat in me kitchen what am i gonna do ,i'm gonna EAT that rat thats what i'm gonna do i'm gonna EAT that rat "

i was mortified years later when a mate pointed out they say "i'm gonna FIX that rat"

if i swallowed a seed, a plant would start growing in my stomach and eventually up to my head forming some kind of plant or tree, sprouting from my scalp where my hair would form as leaves
