  1. honesty is the best policy. my dad taught me and he was right. i must have been a lousy liar cause i always got caught and paid the price. i have found that over the years honesty has lowered my stress levels and kept my conscience clear.there's not much worse than carrying around a heavy load of guilt.

  2. The things I learned from my parents were how NOT to do things. They NEVER followed through on any plan they made -- they put their faith in people who didn't deserve it -- they DIDN'T plan ahead EVER -- they never seemed to understand the phrases "you get what you pay for" and "you can't get something for nothing." They expected things to just "fix" themselves without any effort of THEIR part.

I didn't have a bad childhood -- I had a mediocre one because my parents were really crappy at learning from their mistakes.

I've lived my life the complete OPPOSITE of the way my parents led theirs. It's worked out fairly well.

  3. Don't ever p**s into the wind, you always get wet.
