  1. It is a very empty feeling. Especially when you go from living in a condo, to a shelter. But there is always hope, and one things is certain, you can only go up because there is no more down.

  2. haha barbara you're talking about leslie!! yeah he's one of our hottest tourist attractions.

  3. Life as a homelesss is horrible. I suggest you read a book called

    "Sketches"

Its about homeless person. and stuff.

  4. I'm not going to get into this long drawn out story...It's an empty feeling, like you wonder why and how the place you used to call home isn't anymore, because possibly, you filed for a divorce to get out of an unhealthy relationship of 14 years, next thing you know, the courts order you out of your home, because possibly the father of your children made you out to be the abuser(he's 10 years older) and controller..That's what can happen in the courts these days...that was 15 years ago, and I must say It was the biggest learning experience of my life... I had an Apt for 11 years but because of the trauma and Anxiety That was overwhelming it was hard to work...I am a very hard worker...And things are turning for the good right now...My X called last year after 13 years, crying and apologizing for all he did ...the thing is,  noone really knew what a  hard time I was going through, not even my kids...I did alot of praying and questioning my faith...I couldn't understand why I was  going through such trying tribulations....I now look at the whole ordeal as a lesson...A huge one, none the less...a lesson...There were many...I have come to recognise the homeless now, more so than before... Alot of these people out there come from Homes some of  the people I were business owners, or owned homes, some lost a  spouse, there are alot of sad stories...but you do meet some interesting ones also...and you do end up meeting people who care...Thanks for the question and sorry if the answer dragged. To the person that remarked how a homeless person wouldn't be on a  computer...Next time your at the library hang out for a  while and see who uses the computers there...You may be suprised... I was suprised at the amount of kids out there... I'm at home by the way :) When I would get bummed I always liked watching movies like Home Alone...thanks again...

  5. I don't think anyone homeless would be on the computer. Most homeless people are veterians and don't even kno whow to use a computer

  6. lived in a truck camper for a summer...but had a job that barely paid for my needs after child support payments and limited visitation no thanks to the courts...kind of nice at first, only problem was staying tidy always, so to appear "normal"...winter coming I got motivated, besides it got stressfull because of always wondering where to park at night, what to eat, and being alone...borrowed from relatives for an apartment...got a better job and did not look back...closest to being homeless in this life

  7. I hope I never have to know.

  8. Homeless can mean many things. To me it means someone who does not have a permanent place to live, not necessarily one who sleeps on the streets.

I have been homeless several times, but have never slept on the streets. There are ways to get a bed if you are determined. Last year I was homeless with my daughter and 3 cats for a month. For a week we slept in the basement of a church member's home (not my church, just kind people) and then got a room in a cheap motel. It was hard, but we made it through.

BTW, public libraries have computers with internet access so anyone, even the homeless, can use them. Also, homeless does not mean "without possessions". A homeless person could have a laptop with wireless that was aquired before they became homeless. Pawning or selling it wouldn't bring enough money to get a place to live. It would likely only pay for 2 nights in a motel so not worth selling.

  9. I imagine it would be being cold and hungry all  of the time.

  10. I've never been homeless but I know that some people prefer to remain homeless over assuming real responsibility for their own creature comforts.

There is a man (?) in Austin, Tx who has been homeless for many years. At least he claims to be or have been. He dresses in a purple bikini, wears high heels, lots of makeup and pushes a buggy around town.  I understand he is a well educated person who seems to have "dropped out" of the rat race.   He's a hoot!!!!!!!

  11. your wants diminish, your needs become few but clearly defined.

  12. I'M RETARDED!

    YAY!

    YAY!

    YAY!

    YAY!

    ALEX IS RETARDED!

    YAY!

    YAY!

    YAY!

  13. Don't know what it's like I own a home paid $315,000 cash didn't even need a loan.

  14. ummm it probably sucks

  15. I hope that I never know the answer to that.
