I made it to our city track meet for the 200m. I'm assuming we'll leave for the high schools track at 12:10, which is when our lunch is done. IT goes from 11:50-12:10. But if I eat a good lunch then, I know Ill feel sick after I run. Some other yahoo people have told me to eat something light before, and then have lunch after. What kind of light snack should I eat? We have some energy bars called Clif bars, if anyones heard of them.

My school also has a break at 10:15-10:25.

I'm 14

  1. Clif bars would be fine for most people.  Bagels work well too.  Graham crackers, apples, bananas, fruit snacks, etc.

  2. Toast with peanut butter... Landed me a district record ;)

  3. pretzels, toast, honey, peanut butter, and raisins are all really great. They have carbs and natural energy boosters. Good luck with the meet.

  4. Clif bars are great.  I've always found that eating a piece of chocolate right before running (as in 5-10 minutes before) give you a little energy boost.  If you feel sick after running, make sure you don't eat anything other than a light snack within 2-3 hours of your race.  PowerBar gels are also great.

    Good luck with your meet!

  5. A bagel. Lots of carbs. But no butter! :)

  6. Eat a PowerBar. A ClifBar will do the same thing, but I feel the fiber in the clifbars affecs my running ability. SO go with a powerbar.
