Why is Pennington going to be traded? Why is the quarterback only a backup q-b now?

  1. Because he can't throw farther than 20 yards and has been on the DL longer than Jim McGreevey.

  2. Well he was released today. He is limited because his arm isn't that strong so other teams don't worry about the deep ball when they play him.

  3. He is currently released so at the moment he is severely limited by the fact that he doesn't have a team to play for.  If another team decides to pick him up he will be limited by injuries and armstrength.

  4. They will be lucky to trade him, He is damaged goods and wasn't very good when he was not damaged. He at his best was nothing better then a backup QB, I am a Jet fan and they have not had a real QB since Ken O'Brian was their and haven't had a good one since Joe Willie Namath.........................GO BRETT

  5. Pennington came into the league with questionable arm strength. And this was only made worse by a recurring shoulder injury.

On the plus side, he is a smart, accurate passer that can help any team in a backup capacity. But to be a starter again; he has to prove he can remain healthy.

  6. He hasn't got a strong enough arm to complete all the passes.

He's an intelligent, accurate QB, but the fans had had enough of his weak arm, so they dropped him for Kellen Clemens. And now that Favre is there, he's even further back on the depth chart.
