  3. I get the feeling you are trying to get out of doing your summer reading project, but I can give a little help...but I'm feeling really guilty...

    Then after READING the short story, you can look to see what elements are there. pay attention to imagery, foreshadowing and symbolism. Those are the "big 3" from my AP Lit class last year. If you need help after that, post another question and I might help some more. But the joy and pleasure from literature comes from you reading the story and seeing what events are applicable to life today.

    PS. Poe wrote it, so it's a thriller...at least to me

    After this, I'd suggest reading "The Fall of the House of Usher..."
