  1. Lowering clouds can be the sign of an approaching front or storm.  Also, the winds tend to pick up.  Getting a home barometer monitor can help too.


  2. My head starts to ache.  

    I had an undiagnosed sinus infection when I was young, and my sinuses trap air rather than allowing it to move easily from one to another.  Thus, when the pressure increases or decreases, I get head aches.

    Also, there is likely to be a cloud bank moving in with low pressure, clearing with high pressure.

    Low pressure often comes in with wind, and a drop in temperatures, though that varies with season.  It often means stormy weather is coming, so you see the signs of an approaching storm.
