  1. You should have used Aquaphor the first few days, but start using it now, switching it every other time with plain, unscented lotion. I use WalMart brand lotion like Lubriderm. WalMart brand is just way cheaper and exactly the same stuff. And most important...DON'T SCRATCH IT!! It can affect the image if you do.

  2. You  will find that every person has a preference on how to care for their tattoo.  I feel it is just something that you develop on your own with each tattoo you get.  Me and my boyfriend use fragrance free lotion, the brand doesn't even really matter. I have even used lotion with fragrance when nothing else was available. I think the important part is just to make sure it does not dry out but not to make it over moist.  Good Luck!

  3. Any lotion that is fragrance and aloe free will be fine.  I'm not sure is Aveeno makes a brand that meets these specs, but just check the ingredients list on the back of the bottle.

I have a Target brand which I think is the generic of the fragrance and aloe free Vaseline lotion and it works really great, plus it helps with the itch that starts driving me insane toward the end of the tattoo healing.

So just be diligent and read your ingredient labels, you will find something that will work just fine and you won't have to spend a fortune on either :-)

  4. vaseline would be great

  5. I don't have the exact lotion anymore, but for my second tattoo they recommend therapeutic lotion, unscented.  I know many store sell generics and I had one and it worked well.

I've also used Curel, fragrance free of course, with good results.

Just be gentle on your tattoo and follow your artist's instructions about the lotion routine.

  6. any unscented lotion is ok, you can't get it to heal faster no matter what you do!  :(

all tattooists believe different things! i didn't use any lotion and mine turned out fine! i just used vaseline and anti-bacterial cream. (as advised by my tattooist!)

if your concerned that you'll make the wrong choice call your tattooist and check!
