  1. This time of the year I would use a night crawler harness with a spinner with a number 4 indiana blade  in either chartreus or glow in the dark.  I tie my own and use either owner or gamakatzu  number four hooks.  You can use a single or twin hooks but in that shallow water you might want to go with a commercial small treble stinger hook.  For clevis i use somthing that you can interchange the blades to either smaller or different color easily.  For beads I stay with glow and hot red.  You will want to long line these as far out as possible to avoid boat scare.

Be careful how much weight you add, and go slow.  I usually backtroll on the break edges.

  2. I like long line trolling Rapalas in similar situations.  Go slow, .8 to 1.5 mph should be about right.  Try to keep your boat in deeper water and run in-line planer boards off to the side, or use an electric motor.  If it's windy, troll with the wind.  Sometimes I'll use my bow mount and fan cast while moving slowly.  Use a bait that dives to the appropriate depth, and use a steady retrieve.  When you're fishing shallow water, you don't need a lure that's constantly banging into bottom.  I like using the origional Rapalas.  A jig with a shad body or a jig tipped with live bait works well at times, too, although when the walleyes are shallow, they'll be feeding, and live bait usually isn't necessary.  I've never noticed color being a big factor at night, as long as the lure has dark sides/top and white belly.

  3. the lure doesnt matter as much as your location, look for an under water channel and youll have a better chance no matter what lure you use

  4. personally, i would use a Lindy rig, sinker, long leader and drag a live, luscious, s**y minnow by the lips.  Cast out, let it sink onto the bottom and keep your finger on the line and when you get a tap tap tap...be ready to feed it line until its run "enough"

    Then hit it...hard!

  5. jig with a shiner

  6. A Jerk bait. Many, many different makers, My favorite is the Smithwick rouge. I also like redfins and the Bomber long A  is also a good choice. These will produce in the shallows at night with a slow retrieve or trolling speed making a wake. They cannot resist it.

    Good luck.

  7. ok, ive been fishing since i was about 7,

what you have to have in mind is that zander/walleyes have extremely good eyesight and will be able to see in even the darkest waters in a lake, etc.  the colour should represent other smal coarse fish like minnow. but my fav, is dark colours with bright spots or shades. walleye will be near the bottom     =)
