Question:

What made Lleyton Hewit change his mind about playing Olympic Tennis?

In the past I got the impression he was not so keen on Olympic Tennis and saw it as kind of pointless. Especially since Tennis allready has the Davis Cup when it came to playing for your country.

Not to mention that a pro tennis player's goal is to win Grand Slams. A medal is nice , but is it really the highlite of a top players career especially when it interferes with preparing for the US OPEN.

  1. well, it's not my intention to be mean or offend any lleyton fans but probably he just doesn't have hopes of winning another slam, so he's focusing on winning an olympic medal.-

besides, slams he already has, olympic medal (i'm not 100% sure) he doesn't have.-

i really like lleyton, and it would be very nice to see him play on top of his game again.-

i have the same feelings towards safin, cause i want them to win again, so it's frustrating sometimes see them lose so often and with unheard people.-

  2. Cause he's not the player he was, did you see how Nadal brushed him aside with ease in the Stella Artois championship.

Hewitt knows it's a weaker field so a better chance of winning.
