Now, I don't want to start any flame wars, or any hate. I just was curious, what made you decide to become a vegetarian and what impact do you think you are making with your actions?

Thanks in advance

  1. very funny, orio. :)  i became a vegetarian because i was around a lot of people who were and i started to realize that it would further my love for animals by helping them out, as well as improve my health!  also, i find the act of eating blood and death to be pretty disturbing.  even prior to becoming a vegetarian, i would always get that nagging feeling of guilt each time i was chewing on meat.  aside from the obvious impact of sparing about 100 innocent animals each year (i've saved about 500 so far!), there is also an impact on health and spirituality and the feeling of "being one with nature".  if you have a good, big heart, there is no way you haven't sat there thinking about the animal's life that was taken just for you.  so keep your heart healthy and happy by going veg :-)

  2. My sister is as animal conscious as you can get.  This is what made her turn into a vegetarian.  All of her speeches got me thinking, "why the heck am I eating these poor animals?" For a few days, I tried going vegetarian but it was too hard.  So the only meat I eat now is fish, chicken, and turkey only on thanksgiving.  Do some research on animals first (before deciding NOT to go vegetarian)

  3. the reason i become a vegetarian isn't because i hate animals,  its because i hate plants even more.

  4. Now some people may give my favorite answer; I love animals...blah blah blah who doesn't. I became Vegan, not by choice unfortunately. I've always had allergies to food. But the past year or so I developed many different ones...Eggs, Tree Nuts, Dairy, Beef, Chicken...so as you can see, the only real meat I can have is pork (gross) so veganisim was placed upon me. (it was meant to be) :)

  5. Athletic performance.

I have impacted my athletic performance by altering my diet as such to a very positive degree.  Noticed many other improvements too.

Not only just vegan, but healthy, natural, etc.

  6. It's cute how you worded that. Like I morphed into another creature lol:)

Anyways, I did it for ethical reasons. I didn't agree with the methods of slaughter and living conditions of the animals.

And I'm leaving a smaller carbon footprint behind.

  7. my mom made steak for dinner one night, and it was way undercooked. i couldn't eat it and i decided that from then on i would be a vegetarian.

  8. meat.org

it shows what they do to the animals
