I am a third grade teacher, trying to decide which magazine subscription I should get. I was leaning toward Ranger Rick or Highlights, but reading about them it seems they may be too young.

  1. My son loved Zoobooks.  I know that's not one of your 2 that you're trying to decide on, but I just wanted to give you another option.

  2. maybe national geographic kids?

  3. I remember being fascinated by Ranger Rick when i was between 6-8. I really don't think they are too young for those. Animals are always awesome to read about at that age, and from what i remember the pictures in Ranger Rick were amazing and really interesting.

  4. I favor the weekly or monthly magazines where every child gets one.  Titles that come to mind are Weekly Reader, Junior Scholastic, and Time for Kids.  Then there are math and science magazines too.  Scholastic has quite a few of them.

  5. hi!

    you shuld order these magazines-

    1.education today-it is very benificial .

    2.bal bharti

    3.satya gyan

4.simple teaching for primary-author- ben tort.it is most popular,

  6. I really like Time for Kids. There is a good mix of science and social studies, based on current events. The teacher resources on their website are excellent!

  7. Anything but Highlights...that was one of those magazines that you always read at the doctor's office because that was all they had, but you never really enjoyed it much, even as a kid.

Except Goofus and Gallant...I envied Goofus.

  8. My favorites are Time for Kids, National Geographic for Kids, and Sports Illustrated for Kids.  I also use Scholastic News for my 2nd graders.  I know they have some for each grade level, but it might have a different name.  All of these have great social studies and science connections.  They also all come with teacher resources, extension ideas, and black line masters for activities.  Boys and Girls like them equally well, with the exception of Sports Illustrated.  It is mainly enjoyed by the boys in my class.
