Some internet sites want to charge you to do the writing. I'm looking for the sites that pay you. Thank you.

The first answer is correct, plus also the 2008 Writer's Market, which contains listings of publishers and editors that will accept freelance work (such as Reader's Digest).

I know you asked for just web sites, but when you want to get paid to write, I learned the hard way that the internet alone is not going to get you paid, unless you're an expert on a particular subject.

A good starting point is gofreelance.com.  Another is freelance work exchange.  ifreelance.com, also monster.com and sometimes craig's list.com.  Another good job board is

volition.com.  Best wishes.  I know I got an email 2 days ago from gofreelance, Hallmark was looking for greeting card writers.
