  1. Ok. This requires some photo interpretation because it involves artifacts caused by video codecs.

Look carefully at the plain areas in the video, like the area behind the faucet or the wall to the right of the window. Notice how there is some "blockiness" and how it changes roughly every second.

If this were a video in real time, these artifacts would change very quickly, but because they only change every second, it is a clear indication that they are using stop-motion. (Shoot, move stuff around a little, shoot, repeat.) To add to the realism, they recorded sound effects in post production that follow the movement.

In short, this is quite clearly a fake.

EDIT: BTW the camera is on a tripod - the giveaway is that the image is rock-solid - there is no camera movement.

  2. Monofilament or other fine nylon line. Notice that you don't get to see the cup's handle, which is pointed towards the window.

I mean, there's a person standing there, holding the camera and pointing it at a cup that may or may not move. And that person isn't even surprised when it does move. No "oh golly, look at that!" Not a word.

  3. Well used to make fake ghost, poltergeist, videos, etc.

For these types of effects, just always used very fine poly fishing line, etc.   Sometimes magicians string.

You can get magician's string at magic supply on the internet. This is good for making things appear to be floating, etc.

  4. String?

  5. Yep, I agree with the others there. The camera being held (slight shake) seemed unlikely also but puts the he or she in the right place to be pulling the line. If you look carefully the kitchen roll is moving slightly where the line has been tracked round and pulled. I enjoyed your 'circles' vid but this one is a hoax, I reckon.

  6. A string looped from below  and behind the counter top. If the handle would have been pointed towards us, I wouldn't have used that argument. I don't believe this is poltergeist activity.

The main reason is that usually nobody knows where the activity is going to show up. So you see the narrow perspective of the movie on the cups in dead center lets you know where the action will be. They should have offset the picture a little bit and then moved it when things started moving to make it more realistic. The second reason is the one I listed above.

Someone wasted a lot of time uploading a poor fake.
