Please help me choose major and just think as you are choosing your own major? Thank you so much.?

What major should I go with here?

Can you help me with my major?

Should I do Biomedical Engineering?

1) I am doing Biomedical Engineering, but If I add 5 chemistry classes then i can do double major, Biomedical Engineering and Biochemical Engineering?

2) If I add 5 other class, then I can do double major, Biomedical engineering and Neuroscience.

Which one should I do, number 1 or 2 from above? To be honest, basically tell me where is the money 1 or 2?

Should I do Biochemical Engineering or Neuroscience?

I am thinking of neuroscience, because I want to go to medical school. For Ph. D for Neuroscience, I have to go to medical school, right?

But, Either way I am passionate to study. What would you do if you were me?

I actually like both and it is hard to figure out, so please help me with your ideas and experience, if available.

  1. honestly, you're going to have a lot of opportunities with either of those combinations, especially if you're interested in pursuing them to the PhD level. but if i were you, i'd choose neuroscience so that it's not like a double-engineering thing

  2. I will NOT make this decision for you. No one can. You need to look into both careers and see what best fits you.

    Seriously!!!

  3. I don't believe that one necessarily needs to go to medical school to get a Ph.D. in Neuroscience.  A Ph.D. program is separate from a MD (medical doctor) model though some medical students aim for both a Ph.D. (usually if wanting to perform research) and either a DO (doctor of osteopathic medicine) or MD.

For general career info:  http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'engineers', 'biological scientists' or such.

Perhaps try to envision one's self in both professions and that can help one to get a better idea of which field to pursue.  They say 'if you love what you do, you'll never have to work a day in your life' -- to go with one's passion.  Perhaps do some volunteer work in each field (and/or find out about possibly job shadowing):  http://www.volunteermatch.org

  4. 1. Your degree is not what gets you the money, it is your steadfastness and work ethics.

    2. You can get virtually the same job with biomedical engineering and biochemical engineering.

    3. Biomedical engineering and neuroscience has plenty of prospects for research and development, if that is what interests you.

    4. Pick a profession and job that interests you, rather than searching for the highest pay because you will spend more time at work than at home, or with loved ones.
