  1. Basically just training, and if you really love it, put your heart into it. Some fighters only train for about 2-3 years and they are Professionals. They just train long and hard. Most of the time EVERY DAY.

    Good Luck!

  2. Being well rounded. Not just boxing, wrestling, or jiu-jitsu...you need to be at least above average in all those things plus you need to want to work hard and condition.

  3. All of the above, plus a few more things as well.  Yes, they train very hard, like all professional athletes.  Yes, most of them started martial arts or wrestling as kids.  Yes, luck can be a factor in a fight - one lucky punch can win you the title (such as with Matt Serra vs. GSP).  But you also need good genes - you must be a gifted natural athlete, strong, fast, good endurance.

  4. MMA are great because thye take the best from multiple martial arts and use all this is a great way to learn. i have been doing MMA for about 1 year now and in that year i learnt a lot more than i did in 2.5 years of tae kwon do. which i did when a few years before.
