  2. I know that Ford used to make the chassis/cab's at the KY truck plant.  I don't know if they still do or not.  I'm retired now.

    The chassis/cab's were shipped out and the rest of the body was made by someone else.

I'm a UPS driver and we are currently running several makes.  The one I'm currently driving is built by International.  We have some that are Freightliners, GM and others.  The older trucks around here anyway were mainly GM straight six's then came the vortec V6's.  For a long time they kept the same power plant in everything so they could keep parts on hand.  When they started buying diesels is when we started seeing other makes.     As far as who builds the bodies, I think that is a regional thing.  Union City Body Works in Union City Oh. made a bunch of them.  There are others, just depends on who gets the contract when it's time to buy.
