  1. Go to a specialised running store, and see what they have on offer. They will be able to help you get a pair that fits you well (this is most important), rather then me saying what fits ME well (all shoes and all feet are different).

If you take your old shoes along the running store should be able to see how your feet land on the ground and recommend a pair that is stiffened suitably depending on your running style, you could also mention if you have any recurring injuries -such as knee pains and things.

Best advice though, go to a running shop, try on a few pairs from several makes and choose the ones that fit your feet

  2. asics are always a good choice. I prefer the more padded variety like cumulus and nimbus. They don't wear out very quickly and they are just truly awesome shoes.

  3. New Balance are pretty good.

  4. Asics. any kind as long as their asics

  5. Running Dad pretty much hit it on the head.  NOT adidas ClimaCool - no Torsion system.

Check this site out for some info on shoe fittings:

  6. definitely asics!

  7. I love asics but what I did was go to a smaller sports shop where they checked my gait and the way I walked and got the exact right pair of shoes for me. These big retailers sell the shoes but have no idea what the right ones are so make sure you go and get  proper advice.  I got a lot of injury from wearing the wrong trainers. Which were also asics but the wrong asics for my feet!! My new asics are perfect.

Personally, I really like the Asics Gel 1120's - good support, good cushioning, but not too soft.

But these work for ME - and it took me trying several different models before I knew these were MY shoes.

No one else, online, can really tell you what will work for YOU.  Instead, go to a good running specialty store.  A great one will actually do a dynamic gait analysis for you.  Talk to the folks who work there, let them know about your running habits and style.  Listen to their advice.  Likely you will be recommended a shoe that focuses not so much on how much mileage you put in, but one that reflects how you run.

  9. adidas clima cool
