  1. Gravitational pull of the moon.

  2. mainly the wind and the moons gravitational pull...sounds crazy but its true...a tsunami on the other hand is a bit different...its powered by an earthquake or volcano's power and the friction against the ocean floor.  Hope this helps

  3. Waves are caused by the wind, although sometimes the wind that started the waves (and made them bigger) can be a long, long way away from you.

  4. A young carpenter and his Father.....The one with a Mind of His Own!!!     3 yet 1........the Moon.is what you are looking for I believe.......Have a nice weekend..bye

  5. our moon.

  6. Waves are caused by the wind.  There are three factors that determine the height of the wave:

    speed of the wind

the length of time the wind blows

fetch-the amount of open water across which the wind blows

Waves that move onto a beach as breakers do so because of the motion of the water particles in a wave.  The wave's water particles move in a circular motion.  As the wave reaches the beach, the bottom of the circular motion drags on the "rising" sea floor.  This drag slows the bottom part of the wave down due to friction.  Eventually, the top part of the wave gets so far ahead of the bottom part that the top part crashes over  as a breaker.

Tsunamis are a different type of wave.  They are caused by an underwater earthquake.

The gravitational pull of the moon and, to a lesser extent, the gravitational pull of the sun create tides not waves.  Waves would exist even if there were no gravitational attraction from the moon or sun.

Another type of wave is the rogue wave.  Research is being conducted to determine the causes of this type of wave; however, at this time scientists aren't completely sure of the causes, but they have some good theories.

  7. waves are caused by 3 things:

    gravitation pull of the moon

    gravitation pull of the sun

    wind
