What make up brand do you prefer?

Question

I am looking for some good make up...especially foundation. What brand to you like, why, and where do you get it?

I currently use Clinique Super Lift Make up from Dillards, but am looking for something else that "covers" a little better but doesnt look too cakey etc.

I am also looking for good eyeshadows...the walmart brand aint cuttin it!!

also try Este loder foundation because it is great

I'm a HUGE Clinique fan BUT...I have found that I absolutely LOVE Maybelline's Whipped Mousse foundation. I highly recommend it.

Clinique is expensive but really high quality I recommend them x 10000000  i use thr eyeshadow 2 and it is much better thn walmart :)

I was using bare minerals for 3 years but just switched to everyday minerals. If you know how to apply it correctly you can get as much coverage as you want. For optimal results you should have a powder concealer with concealer brush and a powder foundation with a foundation brush (many use kabuki but I prefer the bare escentuals heavenly brush). Blemishes really do seem to disappear just like on the commercials, I was surprised when I started using the mineral makeup. Bare minerals is the original and the big name, but I started reading about bismuth oxychloride and how it's a byproduct of smelting metal, sometimes LEAD. Everyday minerals has the same 4 ingredients as bare minerals minus the bismuth oxychloride. It also doesn't make my skin as shiny as the bare minerals (I use semi-matte). You can get a free 5-piece sample kit from everydayminerals.com it only cost $3 for my shipping. If you don't already have brushes they sell some inexpensive ones on their site. E.l.f. also sells brushes cheap but they're not very good quality.

For eyeshadows, at drug stores max factor and milani both have highly pigmented ones (I've only tried the singles) when I'm using eyeshadow brushes. There are more expensive brands that are good like urban decay and MAC. I got an 88 color palette from coastal scents for only $22 that I've seen elsewhere for $90 and $120. I read reviews that their quality rivals MAC and I've tried it once... it's reallllly good. They have a few different palettes to choose from at coastalscents.com.

I use Prescriptives for everything because it perfectly matches my skin and is great FOR your skin, but other than them, I love Dior makeup. Their waterproof eyeshadows are to die for.

If you don't already, you should use an eyeshadow primer! I switch between Urban Decay's Primer Potion and Mac's paint pot in painterly. I'm able to use Wal-Mart brand eyeshadow.

Yep I find MAC foundation really good! They also do good eyeshadow.  MAC is a little pricey, but it's worth it because it lasts so much longer.

I love everyday minerals.  There foundation is smooth and goes on great.  And I love their eye shadows.  The colors are great and when you put them on wet they look amazing.

MAC....... You can view their products on line. You said Dillards so I am thinking you may lilve in the South. Try Nordstrom, or Macys. I used Clinique foundation, and it is not good at all.

Bare Escentuals is a great brand. Their foundation is superior to any other and a liittle goes a long way. The brand might seem a little pricey at first glance, but once you try it, you will never go back to regular foundation. All you do is put a little powder in the lid of the jar, swirl the brush around in the lid, tap off excess and apply in a circular motion around your face. It literally feels like you are not wearing makeup, however, it gives great coverage. They have a fantastic selection of colors to choose from. I use the medium tan. Their concealer is fabulous and easy to apply. Great coverage. You can purchase it on line at Qvc.com or http://www.bareescentuals.com/. Either way, they have starter kits to purchase which makes it more afordable, and gives you everything necessary including the brushes. Also, you can view a "how to apply"  video at the following link which will be good for you and extemely helpful. Watch it and see. If it seems to good to be true, it is not.
