He's already broken a record, a 62 year old record in fact with the most wickets on debut. He proved his mental capability in the tough Asia Cup final, Sri Lanka batted for a low total, nothing was going to well when we began to bowl and then Mendis came in and won the match for the team, can't sell yourself better than that.

I think he's absolutely amazing and Sri lanka are extremely lucky that they found him. I think people need to stop labelling him as the next murali, because he's not, he's so different, he's just as good as murali but yet so different.

Anyway amazing young find. Sri Lanka are very lucky to have him around.

He can bowl 6 different deliveries in an over which makes him unpredictable and batsmen find it very difficult to read him. Then he invented new delivery called Carrom Ball which he has mastered. Most important thing is that he is an army man and hence has lot of determination and concentration power.

His great control and wide variety which casts doubts in their mind about how will the ball behave.

Despite the variety if he fails to waver in length and direction he will be easily picked by the batsmen.So his accuracy is as important.

He has got his own unique delivery known as "Carrom Ball" but it is not just. Actually he has got many different variations and his ability to really puzzle one of the greatest batsman like S. Tendulkar, M. Yousuf, Rahul Dravid and Ganguly also makes him special and unique. I believe that he is really going to make a boom in bowling field of cricket.
