Question:

What makes America so special?

I was just listening to an old speech by our wonderful *sarcasm* President Bush... and well, he was just saying how North Korea and Iran need to "give up all weapon testing of any kind."

Why is it okay for our country to spend billions a month advancing our military, advancing our military, etc. etc. But why is it not okay for other countries to do the same?

I understand that Iran and North Korea ARE threats, but I was just wondering why it's usually America that says "Hey! Stop advancing your military! Only we're allowed to do that!" Ever notice other countries trying to persuade other nations to stop advancing their military??

There could be a simple answer to this... but it was just a random thought that came to mind while watching the eloquent speech President Bush gave a couple years back.

  1. Maybe because Iran have said that they want to wipe israel of the map and if they had nukes they probably would, and north korea wouldn't hesitate to invade south korea. Nukes are a deterrent. While the USA has them north america is safe, and while UK and France have them europe is safe and the west can live in peace

  2. We don't want to be bullied and controlled. A lot of what we have, comes from us being a superpower.

  3. America is great - Obama is trash !

  4. Everything, its the "Shiny City on the Hill"

    MAFIA!

  6. It isn't okay for America to advance their military and other countries not to; the persons running America just prefer that no other countries do.

  7. Being medicated with fluoride against our will just like the concentration camp victims in n**i Germany?

Docile and dumb slaves are good slaves.

  8. Ask the illegal immigrants who are desperately trying to come here. Ask the Cubans.

America is one of a few handful of countries who care about people in countries whose rulers think they are expedient.

  9. Neocon hypocrisy...nothing more.

  10. Because anything that gives the U.S. an opportunity to expand its influence with oil-producing nations must be A-OK, doncha know?

Another country giving you ****? Don't worry, we'll stick up for you... but now you owe us!

Trying to stick up for yourself against a U.S-backed enemy? Better watch out or we'll take control of your country and install a government that we own. Oh yeah, and we get all your oil.

  11. Because if America didnt stand up to dictators and evil regimes like North Koreas nobody else in the world would. Do you see Germany helping to fight for freedom of others? How about France? Canada-where are you Canada? They all leave it to America to be the worlds police force and then when things dont go just right they criticize us.

  14.                                                                                               I thought of the same thing .First remember it started back in Perl Harbor or earlier when Countries were trying to take advantage of us.It is the philosophy of this country to control things so the there isn't a neucleuar war.

Remember we are working with other countries to stop the threat.

  15. It is "OK" for North Korea and Iran to continue their weapons programs.  It is just that Pres. Geo Bush wants them to stop.  That would be in the interest of the US -- the country for which he is President.

The leaders in North Korea and Iran whould find it just fine if we stopped our programs.  In fact, the US has been asked on several occasions to disarm our neuclear weaponds.  That is "ok".  We did not disarm.  That, too is OK.

And we can spend billions and billions on weapons if we want to.  That is "OK"  Any other country in the world can also choose to spend themselves into the poor-house.  That is OK.

Is all this "OK" with you?
