What makes Frankie Rodriguez such a good reliever?

He is the most overrated reliever in the league today actually.... (compare his era and whip with mariano rivera and joe nathan) but I'm not saying he's no good, he has a good fast ball and obviously throws that slider but he can also mix in a change and he can jam you with his cutter... Not as good as Mo or Nathan (they're good because of pin point control and mo's cutter and nathan's slider) but he's still one of the best in the league...

He does have amazingly good pitches. But is he as good as we thought. Maybe the only thing that makes him look good is he gets more oppertunities. If you look at other pitchers you will see they may have better era, whip and even a better save percentage. Everyong thinks K-Rod has a chance at Cy Young. That is a no no. To get Cy young has a closer. They would need like 60 saves. A very low era probably under 1. 100% save. a 1 whip. And have probably near 100 + k's. Doesn't look like K-rod is going to get a cy young award or a closer period any time soon for that matter.

a dominating fastball and good movement on his offspeed stuff.  He is a little lucky that the Angles are in so many close games, which gives him a chance to rack up the saves and the Angles are lucky they have K-Rod because anyone else would have cracked under the pressure by now.

He is good yes, but not dominant like he used to be, fastball is only 90-92 now and his slider isn't as devastating as it used to be. However, he has a fantastic changeup that is his equalizer.

If I had to guess it would be his intensity and just the fact of how he pitches. When you have limbs flying all over the place its hard for the batters to pick up the ball. Goose use to pitched like that and it worked out pretty good for him.

And if K-Rod can stay healthy, I would predict HOF in his future after baseball.
