  1. the people, the scenery, the music, the literature and theatre, the pub and club scene, the atmosphere altogether, the sites - it's an amazing country, come over! only, life is ******* expensive here, you'd want to be prepared.

  2. 1. The pubs (and not the ones in Temple Bar!) The smaller, local pubs are a great meeting spot where evryone knows you (OK a good and bad thing)

    2. The flexible work week

    3. The fact that you can go anywhere in Europe cheaply and quickly from Dublin (RyanAir, AerLingus, etc)

    4. You can hop on a bus from Dublin and end up somewhere totally different and serene, such as Killarney

    5. It seems like there are only like 3 degrees of separation on the island (well, it could be a good thing or a bad thing :o)

    6. The shopping, OK, its expensive, but theres loads of great shops

    7. I think it is safer than the U.S. (OK, I know Dublin has the Liberties, Ballymun, etc, but its not as bad as some parts of the US) North of Ireland accents usually scared people off in dodgy areas of Dublin!

    8. The people are friendly and polite, I miss them

Everyone was more neighbourly and cooperative,  Americans are too competitive and stand-offish.  The Irish really take themselves lightly and have  a great sense of humour.

    9. Irish sports! The football, rugby, GAA fans congregating in Dublin (great atmosphere) Used to live near Landsdowne and it was great craic during the rugby

    10. The great quality of education...I think UCD, University of Ulster, and Trinity are on par with U.S. Ivy League Universities (my education in Ireland has put me at a great advantage in the US)

  3. I'm Irish and I live in Ireland, and I've also travelled to a lot of other countries. I think we live in a great little country. The weather is never too extreme (and is always a good conversation starter), people are generally friendly, talkative and mindful of others, and we like having fun. Some Americans I know say we lack arrogance, and therefore we find it easy to make good friends. The country has jaw-dropping scenery - I've travelled a lot through Ireland and I'm still finding places that are stunningly beautiful. In addition we are far enough away from most major troublespots, earthquake zones and disease areas for most people to expect a fairly long healthy life. The education system is good, and even the health system generally keeps our life expectancy fairly high, (despite the fact that our health system is not good by European standards).

I don't know - I kind of love this place.

  4. I'm Irish living in Chicago.......I always say there are only two types of people.....thoose who are Irish and those who wish they were.

    We rule!!!!!!!!!

  5. I went to Ireland with my husband(who's from Killarney Co Kerry)and lived in Killarney for 13 years.I moved back to my own country this year as l have 2 family members dying and wanted to spend time with them. But if my family members were not sick,I would still be in Ireland as it's a wonderful country. The people are friendly and easy going.I couldn't have asked for a better country to have raised and educated my children, even though they are only 14,11,and 4.To me only a boring person could ever get bored there.any way thanks my opinion.

  6. C'MON IRELAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The people, wealth (highest quality of living in the world by fact).

    LOADS OF STUFF!

And yes, I know my nickname is cool, along with Eire and s**y Irishman on Answers.

  7. well crime levels are lower than most other european countries, the air is cleaner and purer, people are generally friendly, and the fact that people take things in their stride without so much pressure is great.
