i am kind of blind to what goes on behind the scenes, so if you actually played ball, tell me what does a coach do that makes him or her the type of coach that players love to play for, makes them winners? actually i was really wondering if it was the way a coach motivates players either by being positive or by getting in your face as to wake you up.

  1. the ones that know when to work you hard, have control over their players, but not too much, and to answer your question, i think it depends on the player.  if the player has a lot of potential and he isnt working hard, or if the team has the talent and is lazy, it is necessary to get in their face. but if it is a weaker player and he iis trying his hardest, just be positive, it will keep him trying his best and it will pay off.

  2. A coach has to recognize and capitalize on the strengths of each player. He must utilize each player where he can best benefit the team.

  3. Good coaches are honest with their players. They don't spew all the garbage about the team being greater than any individual, when everyone knows that's pure BS. They know who needs a pat on the back and who needs a chewing out. Not all players react the same. The coach who constantly screams and yells doesn't get anymore from his players than a coach who is quiet, but forceful.

  4. CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS.. thats all a coach needs

  5. WINS!! It's the only important factor.
