  1. Cows produce milk to feed their young like all mammals.  The cream is the milk fat that is part of the milk and will float to the top of the milk if it sits for a while without being stirred.  The whole milk you buy at a store is homogenized and will not separate the way fresh milk will.  2% milk has had some of the cream taken out before it is homogenized.  Skim milk has had all the cream taken off.

All milk has a certain amount of milk fat in it.  Some breeds of cow produce more cream than others.

  2. how do I rate the answers?  I wanted to vote a thumbs down on the churning answer!  That's how you make butter!!

  3. A cow just naturally produces cream, or milk fat, when it produces milk.  It , like all other animals, produces milk to feed it's young.  The amount of cream produced is controlled to a great extent by genetics.  For example a Jersey cow produces a lot more cream than the Holistinen.

  4. Exactly the same way other milk producing animals do (in Ur question u mentioned only about cow which means u know how other animals produce cream).Does that satisfy u ?

  5. Cows produce milk, the cream is skimmed from the top of raw milk....some breeds produce richer milk. But all cows produce cream in this sense.

  6. Cream is simply the naturally-occurring "fat" in the milk that cows produce to feed their young. We don't look too kindly on fat in today's society, but it's actually an essential nutrient, especially for rapidly-growing baby mammals. A calf's body (and your own!) uses fat in everything from constructing cell walls to providing essential amino acids for healthy brain development.

Most milk from cows contains a certain amount of milkfat, unless the cream has been removed by skimming. The 1% and 2% milk you buy in the grocery store does contain cream, but the milk has been homogenized to blend the milk and cream together and "make" it stay blended.

    Human breastmilk also contains cream.

  7. what do you mean cream? do you mean cow s***n or cow milk? cow s***n comes from giving birth and cow milk is from the cow itself.

  8. Cows don't produce cream, but their milk is churned for a long time to make it thick, that is how you get cream.

  9. cows produce milk.. they do it for their young.. most mamals do this.. Cream is the stuff, the oily stuff that tends to separate from the watery stuff.. Being lighter it floats to the top.

But a cow produces milk to suckle its offspring like all mamals do.
