What makes a difference in a cell phone upgrade?

i haventhad my phone for too long, so i cant upgrade it to a sidekick yet, but i can and will upgrade my uncles phone and he will have mine and i can get the new sidekick 08. but, in t-mobile, you can get an upgrade if youve had a phone for 11, and 22 months. i was wondering what difference that would make in the price of the sidekick 08 for me, because i am getting the 2 year contract as well.

The difference is price.  If you buy a phone when you are ready to upgrade you get the phone for a cheaper price. You get it a 2yr contract price plus other discounts, like mail in rebate too. You would save money.  The retail price on the sidekick 2008 is $299. It does not say on T-mobile's web site how much the sidekick 2008 is at 2yr contract. I don't know how much you would be saving.
