What makes a film or tv program or series a good one?

Why? Are there any similarities between good movies and good literature in general? Dissimilarities?

    mmm, well for me a good tv series has to be really funny, 'cuz other wise i won't watch it...

    and yes a do believe that in order for a movie to be considered good, it must have good literature behind it!!

    unless it's comedy!!
