What makes a good President?

What, in your opinion, are good qualities that a President should have?

This is not the place for bashing EITHER candidate, or making a case for either candidate. I don't want to hear why Obama fulfills the qualities or why McCain is the best man.

I JUST WANT TO KNOW, what EXACTLY do you want in a President, given the President's job duties (to represent the public, to decide whether or not to approve legislation, to provide morale, etc.)?

  1. The president must put the interests of party aside and put the interests of the country first. That means all of it's citizens, not just the rich and influential.

The greatest president we ever had was Franklin D Roosevelt who led the country through the great depression and world war II and set us on a course for the greatest period of prosperity we have ever known.

He held this country together almost single handedly during some of the darkest years in our history. Only Lincoln and Washington are his equal in our history.

If you want to know what makes a good president read up on FDR.

  2. Honesty top choice.

    integrity.

    loyal.

    humble.

    caring.

    hardworking.

    opinionated.

I think the rest just comes.

    good question.

    best of luck!

  3. A brilliant mind

    Good judgment

    Integrity

    Ability to lead

    Ability to exercise diplomacy

That's why I will be voting the Obama/Biden ticket.

I will not vote for a ticket in which its second choice abuses her office to exact revenge on the citizens she govern.

Sarah Palin is under investigation for using the office of the governor to try and get her ex-brother-in-law fired.

When she was the mayor, she fired two of her staff members for not supporting her during the time she ran.

  5. I want someone that can first and foremost interact on a global scale with diplomacy in mind. As Bill Clinton said "Our country does best when we lead by the power of our example, not the example of our power." I also want someone who will bring social reform on a large scale that helps not just the rich or influent, but the poor and middle class as well.
