What makes a good parent?

In my opinion, it's the love they show for you.

My own dad (I'm 15) goes to work everyday even if he dislikes it to provide for my family, when he can't afford things he will go around in beaten up clothing to let my sister and I have nice clothing, he always goes out of his way to tell us how much trust faith and pride he has in us, and he always says "Have I told you I loved you today?"

My mom is the same way.

I'd say you have pretty darn good parents. They show you what's right, and they tell you that they love you, and they want you to have a good life. So....good parents love their kids, give them a good life, and teach them how to have good morals and values.

Lucky you!! I hope that you can do the same for your own children when you get older. (if you have any). Oh, and a piece of advice....enjoy the rest of the time that you have as a "kid." It goes by so fast, I would give anything to go back to when I was 10 years old again. I wouldn't, however want to go through teenage years again. Those ARE really rough years. Anyway, enjoy not having to worry about all the bills, love your parents, and make the best of your 3 remaining years as a minor. And, it wouldn't hurt to let your parents know that you think they are great, and that you love them too. I am sure you already tell them this, but if you don't, I know they will greatly appreciate it :).

AW IT SOUNDS LIKE U GOT A GOOD DAD, I DO THE SAME U CAN BE BROKE AS LONG AS THERE IS LOVE AND IT SOUNDS LIKE TERE IS THEY ARE GOOD PARENTS. ME AND MY FAMILY I WAS ALWAYS GIVING MONEY THAT HOW MY PARENTS SHOWED LOVE TO ME MY X HIS PARENTS ALWAYS HUGD HIM HE IS 26 AND HIS MOM STILL DOES IT AND I FEEL SO JELOUSE WHEN I SEE HOW MUCH LOVE THEY HAVE FOR EACHOTHER. APPREICATE IT NOW CAUSE ONE DAY U WONT HAVE THEM AROUND. AND TELL THEM IN RETURN  NEVER TAKE ANYTHNG 4 GRANTED

sounds like you have a great relationship with your parents and that's wonderful. There's no question that being a good parent means lots of different things but what matters to you is your parents and how you feel about them. It's important, I think, for kids to know down deep inside that their parents love them. It's good to know that you feel like your parents have done it right.
